Babyphone is a Babymonitor that will call you on your own house phone or any other phone to be alerted upon the child awakening, without having to be camped out, next to the door to the babys room.

The main screen of Babyphone shows the current status, the microphone sensitivity and the threshold for triggering the alarm.

If the Microphone’s display reaches or exceeds the set threshold, the previously defined phone number will be called.

In the settings you can enter the number to call. In addition, there is a sleeping interval with an adjustable delay in minutes, after which Babyphone will reactivate itself again.

Pros and cons of Babyphone (Babyfon) app for iPhone and iPad

Babyphone (Babyfon) app good for

Excellent app. You can be at your uncle Bobs in Texas, and use this as a babymonitor and call his phone to alert you. Works with any phone Nr in the world. Eg we were in Europe, visited a friend who does not have a babymonitor, put our kid to bed there, left babyphobe app on and put my friends phone Nr in. The phone received message when somebody was crying. Fantastic app! If you are longdistance and do not want the charges, dont pick up the phone. But at least you will be alerted that there is noise going on, so you will check on it. 2 BIG advantages: can use it anywhere in world, and can set sensitivity of when it calls you (so if your baby sleeps with music or fan, you can djuat for that in your settings). Two HUGE thumbs up for this app!
Purchased and used while on vacation without a baby monitor. Took about 2 minutes to be fully up and running. Its easy to use and works perfectly. Highly recommend!
On an unexpected trip with our six month old and didnt think about packing the baby monitor. This app has turned out to be a huge help! Very well designed and effective. Only suggestion is make sensitivity bar biased towards more sensitive end -- I find I have to keep it within three or four pixels at the extreme left for it to be useful and its hard to tweak. Maybe make it logarithmic?
As a mom if two, I struggle with keeping my 4 month old asleep while the 2 1/2 y.o. plays. So, when the little guy falls asleep, I can now leave him anywhere in the house with BabyPhone on and rest assured he hasnt awakened unnoticed transporting our monitor from room to room was a pain. This is exactly what I was looking for. TIP: Set the sensitivity level before your little one goes to sleep so you can see how his/her movements/noises register in the mic.
This is amazing. Works like a pro. I use this every day. No matter where he falls asleep our 4 month old can "call me" when he wakes up. I have the sensitivity turned up and if he even so much as spits out his paci the house phone rings. Nice to take our home phone our in the yard to. Our "regular" baby monitor doesnt work outside the house, but this one does ... As far as my cordless phone will travel. Thanks for a smart product.
Works like a charm! Has a great sensitivity setting, catches my baby waking up so I get to her before she can even get a cry out. You can make it so sensitive that it will call you if your baby so much as starts to roll over. Or you can make it much less sensitive. Its awesome!! I couldnt be happier with this application.

Some bad moments

I agree with the last review, this app is a fraud! Ridiculous! As soon as the alarm is triggered, a dialogue pops up that asks for pressing the call button. How stupid is that? Whos is going to press yes for the call, the baby? Iam really impressed why Apple is selling this app. Really unresponsable!
After setting the sensitivity to the left border meaning max sensitivity, application becomes useless. After restart of app it makes a call with no delay, so you cant even open the settings tab. If switched to airplane mode the situation becomes scen worse, because the "turn off the airplane mode" monit is appearing non stop, which can be interrupted by restarting the phone. Crap.
Be careful as it does not work with OS 3.0. Almost left our child with it, good thing we double-checked even though we used it many times before. Apple, please, make the changes to make this work !! Was the best App for people with kids.
does not work with the new software update, spent 3.99 for nothing. when the alarm is tripped it asks you if you would like to call the number that is programed in .. how is a baby going to do that ... needs to be updated or I need a refund...
Spent money for nothing. As soon as the alarm is triggered, a dialogue pops up that asks for pressing the call button. How stupid is that? My advice: Do NOT buy!
Well, it has obviously worked before, but now theres a popup asking if the phone number should be called. Doesnt do the job!
